What is Massage Therapy?
Massage therapy is a comprehensive intervention involving a range of techniques to manipulate the soft tissues and joints of the body. The purpose of massage therapy is to prevent, develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function or relieve pain (Massage Therapy Act, 1991). It is a clinically-oriented health option that achieves  results in the relief of an array of discomforts stemming from stress, muscular overuse and many chronic pain syndromes.

At CHMTC we offer a wide variety of Treatment options including: Swedish Massage, Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue Massage, Manual Lymphatic Drainage , Trigger Point Therapy, Hot Stone Massage, Pregnancy Massage, and Sports Rehabilitions.

Clinic is open 7 days a week for appointments; however it is important to call ahead and book an appointment as the clinic runs on a by appointment only basis, and is not gaurenteed that a therapist will be available otherwise.

For an Appointment today please call (416) 606-3251, and remember many extended health insurers cover massage therapy when performed by a RMT. Please feel free to contact if you have any questions or concerns regarding the clinic or massage therapy in general.

COMING SOON: As of September 2007 the clinic will be offering Active Isolated Stretching (AIS):

Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) is one of the methods of stretching most used by today's athletes, massage therapists, personal/athletic trainers, and professionals. Active Isolated Stretching allows the body to repair itself and also to prepare for daily activity. The Active Isolated Stretching technique involves the method of holding each stretch for only two seconds. This method of stretching is also known to work with the body's natural physiological makeup to improve circulation and increase the elasticity of muscle joints and fascia.
